First Aid Training

At TCI Red Cross we teach First Aid and life-saving skills to the community and to employees in both the public and private sector. Our courses provide hands-on training and education, while encouraging and promoting improvement in safety and health in both the home and the workplace.

The courses we offer are:

Essential First Aid – $125/person – 7 hours

This is our most popular course, where you will learn first aid responses to the most common accidents and emergency situations; It includes caring for an unconscious casualty (breathing and not breathing), performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and treating major and minor injuries.

This course covers adult, child and infant first aid and can be varied to cover a variety of job site /workplace injuries and additional content specifically for sports and leisure injuries.

Advanced First Aid – $250/person – 2 days

This course is tailored to those looking for a hands-on course that provides practical training which will enable you to respond to common first aid situations. It covers responding to the needs of conscious and unconscious casualties; responding to casualties with major injuries and those with common illnesses and conditions; and Adult and Infant cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), elements of psychosocial first aid and can also be altered to cover your specific training needs.

Basic Life Saving – $75/person – 4 hours

This is a practical course in key life-saving skills from choking to major injuries. The course content includes caring for an unconscious casualty – breathing and not breathing; as well as choking; severe blood loss and shock.

AED Certification – $60/person – 2 hours

Learn the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in cardiac emergencies. This course covers AED and CPR training only. (Includes DOs and Don’ts of AED handling and care).

First Aid Refresher – $75/per person – 4 hours

This course is for person seeking to be recertified as a first aider after a 2-year expiration period. Candidates must have successfully completed the Essential First Aid course to be eligible for this course.

Introduction to First Aid – Free – 2 hours

This is our shortest course, where you will learn adult life-saving skills in as little as two hours. The course includes caring for an unconscious casualty – breathing and not breathing, as well as choking.
